[Church of England (Anglican)]
St Nicholas was built in the 1300 on the site of an Anglo-Saxon church dedicated to St Michael. Saxon and Norman reliefs from this church are now on the north chancel wall. It was refitted in 1849 and the 15th century tower rebuilt in 1886. The church with its treasures was made redundant in 1984. In 2001 the Diocese of St Edmundsbury and Ipswich repurchased it and have developed a conference centre, linked by a new glass cafe building to their offices in Churchgates House. The church had been in the care of Ipswich Historic Churches Trust. The entire complex was put on the market in 2022.
