Cerkiew sw. Mikolaja Cudotworcy

Wielkie Oczy Poland

[Greek Catholic (Byzantine)]

The church was built in 1925 and renovated in 1937, reinforcing the walls and extending the nave. It was closed in 1947 when the Ukrainians were expelled and used as a warehouse until 1989. The belfry was pulled down in 1955. It is now owned by the State Treasury and is empty. Basic conservation took place in 1990 and a symbolic service was held. Condition continued to deteriorate, the sheet metal on the dome being lost, leading to further conservation work in 2011.
