Prossedi, Lazio Italy
Roman Catholic
The Romanesque church was within the castle walls. It was built in the 1200s and is the oldest church in its municipality. It was so neglected that the bishop issued a decree to close it as it was in risk of collapsing and was being used as an animal stable. In 1900 the assistant priest together with all the people contributed to restore the church. It reopened in 1902. It was restored again from 1992 to 2003.
