Greek Catholic (Byzantine)
The first wooden church was built by the middle of the 1600s; the next one about 1750 and it burned down. The miraculous icon of the Blessed Virgin Mary was placed in the church in 1860, and later in a specially built chapel. The brick church was built from 1901-03. During World War I, a cannon shell exploded near the chapel and it was destroyed save for the part of the wall where the icon hung. It was then transferred again to the church. When the church sustained extensive damage, only the icon survived. The church was restored in the 1920s. Following the Soviet period, pilgrimages to the icon began again in 1997.
