Volgograd, Volograd Oblast Russia
Roman Catholic
The neo-Gothic church was built in 1899; its side chapels are dedicated to the Virgin Mary and Saint Stanislaus. In 1930 authorities closed the church and it was looted and vandalized. In 1935 it was used as a school and then as an assembly hall. It was so damaged that it was nearly demolished in the 1980s. The parish was re-registered in 1991 and the church returned to the Diocese of Saint Clement in Saratov. Restoration took over five years.
