Wooden church of St. Nicholas was built in the village of Krakolie in 1872-74. It was closed in 1938 and the building used as a club. It was used as a church again from 1942-1945. The building was then dismantled and taken to Ust-Luga, where it was again used as a club. As the port of Ust-Luga is being enlarged and developed, the building has been used again as the Church of St Nicholas since 1999. Building of a new Holy Trinity Cathedral with Chapel of St. Nicholas began in 1997.
