The church was purchased from the Solovetsky Monastery, dismantled and moved to this location and consecrated in 1711. From 1917 until 2003 it was inactive and used as a warehouse. Though recognized in 1960 as a monument of wooden architecture, it became dilapidated. Restoration nearly rebuilding from scratch, the church was reconsecrated in 2004. The village is in the Northern Dvina delta on Koneshny Island.
