Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker

Galushchintsi Ukraine

Greek Catholic (Byzantine)

The ancient church was built in the first half of the 1600s—a new wooden church was built in 1754 and it is still in use. The Soviets closed the church in 1962; it was saved as the people organized a village museum in it. People came theoretically to see the museum, but came actually to pray. Church life resumed in the 1990s.
