The first St Nicholas Church was wooden and built in 1811; it was replaced by another wooden church brought from Novocherkassk. This church was consecrated in 1837 and lasted until replaced by a stone church. Construction for the stone church began in 1880 and consecrated in 1906. It was destroyed in 1936. A prayer house was established after 1945 and the temporary St Nicholas Church is on that site; it was a converted house. It was rebuilt in 1992. The cornerstone for the new church was laid in 1995 and construction was from 2006 - 2011, when the new church was consecrated.
