The church, in the center of the village, was built in 1890. It was originally Greek Catholic. It was closed from 1965-1966, and then opened for just a few weeks. In 1990 the village was divided into Greek Orthodox and Greek Catholics and the Orthodox retained the church. During the Soviet era, a clock was installed on the clock tower by a woman, born here and living in Canada. The church was repainted in 1993.
