Nikolaevka, Kamchatka Krai Russia
Russian Orthodox
A wooden chapel was dedicated to St. Nicholas here in 1888. It was burned during the Civil War. In the Soviet time a school was needed and the chapel in Petropavlovsk was dismantled and brought to Nikolaevka on rafts and by horse. It was reassembled in 1925, though the altar faced south and without the domes. The building served as a school, a club, children's workshops, and a canteen. It was converted into a residence last. The Orthodox community was registered in 1992 and the former chapel was consecrated in 1993. It now has a small dome.
