Church of St Nicholas

Bohdanivka, Ternopil Ukraine

Greek Catholic (Byzantine)
Ukrainian Orthodox

The parish dates from the 1700s and the current church was built in 1846 and restored in 1869. Before 1946 it belonged to the Greek Catholics and when churches came out of the underground in 1990 there was a struggle over who would have use of the church, with the Orthodox taking control. Things were settled in 2004 with the Greek Catholic community allowed to use the church. Since then the two communities use the church alternately.
