The church was built in 1792. In 1946 it was pressured to join the Moscow Patriarchate of the Russian Orthodox Church. The church was extended in 1997, added a new spire and bell tower. New domes and roof were installed in 2012. The church is now under the jurisdiction of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church.
