The church, built in 1902, was until 2010 the parish church for the parish of St. Nicholas-Broich. It now belongs to the parish of St. Sebastian in the community of Würselen parishes. It was severely damaged in World War II in 1944. With temporary repairs, services resumed in 1945. The building is a listed historic monument.
