Niederbreitbach Germany
Roman Catholic
It is likely that the chapel was built by Benedictine nuns and dates back to 1393. The Romanesque chapel was remodeled in the Baroque style in the 1580s. A 1912 extension was largely removed in 1975. The chapel has always belonged to Niederbreitbach, though the people had to go to Waldbreitbach for Sunday services. That changed in the 1840s and again in the 1950s. The Niederbreitbach branch became an independent parish the chapel became the parish church until a new parish church was consecrated in 1969. The old chapel was the reconstructed in 1975 to serve as a cemetery chapel.
