The present church was built at the beginning of the 1770s and was completed and consecrated in 1787. It took the place of several wooden churches that had burned down. The main altar was renovated in 1861 and the whole church renovated in 1870. It was again renovated and expanded in 1903. Damaged in World War II, it was repaired following the war. The roof tiles were replaced in 1968 and the interior renovated in 1988.
