Kostol sv. Mikuláša

Turany Slovakia

Roman Catholic

The church dates from the latter 1300s. The church was used by Protestants in the 1500s. In the 1600s services alternated between the Protestants and the Catholics. After fire damage in 1636 there was extensive restoration. The bell tower is from 1636. In a dilapidated state, a ceiling beam fell into the nave during mass. The church returned to the Catholics in 1709. It was renovated in the 1940s, and again in the early 2000s.
