The church was built in the early 1800s. The oldest bell is from the earlier 1790 wooden church. It was saved from World War I in 1916. The other three bells were thrown down and used for cannon barrels. Bells were reinstalled in 1924. Originally Catholic, it became Protestant in the 16th century, returning to the Catholic Church in the 18th dentury, following estate uprisings.
