Levoča Slovakia
[Roman Catholic]
The church was discovered during archeological research in 1978. It is thought to date back to the 1100s. The church was in an early Slavic settlement. It was burned during the Tatar invasion (1200s). It was extensively modified when rebuilt. The church was again reconstructed in the early 1300s. It was finally destroyed by the invading Hussites in 1431. As the new town of Levoča was developing, the church was no longer needed and it disappeared. The remains are on private land.
