[Nikolauskapelle]
Stift Klosterneuburg

Klosterneuburg Austria

Roman Catholic

The Klosterneuburg Abbey, near Vienna, dates from the early 1100s and remains in the care of Augustinian friars. The monastery treasury was always in the St. Nicholas Chapel. The chapel was a Romanesque building, connected to the chapter house in the cloister. The chapel was demolished in 1837 as the imperial court was completed. The original treasury cabinets from 1678 are still in use in the new treasury in the Imperial Wing.
