The church, also known as the Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker,is in the Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin. It was completely restored from 2019 to 2020. Walls and arches were painted and an iconostasis and icons in icon cases installed. The church, built in 1885, was closed in the 1920s and used as a tram depot and garage. The belfry was taken down. The church was transferred to the Nizhny Novgorod diocese in 2018 and the first prayer service held after 100 years of silence.
