The earliest mention of a St. Nicholas Church is 1638. A new one was built in 1717; it burned down in 1876. Another new church was built in 1881. The bell tower was added in 1894. The shingled roofs were replaced with galvanized sheet metal in 1901-05. The church was closed from 1949 until 1988. It was renovated in 1993-95. The church is on a hill in the middle of the village.
