Sankt Nikolai Kapell
Knäbäckskapellet

Knäbäckshusen Sweden

Church of Sweden (Lutheran)

The chapel is by the beach in Knäbäckshusen and belongs to the Rörum parish. In 1958 the eel shed was moved here to become the chapel when the fishing village was moved to make room for a firing range. The relocated village is on the shores of Hanö Bay. Nineteen houses were built, but only one former resident bought one. The new houses had running water, electricity, toilets, and electric stoves, making them expensive. The village became a summer village owned by people from all over Sweden. The chapel is used for baptisms and weddings. Earlier it had regular summer worship services.
