Saint Nicholas Catholic Church

Farm Hill, Wisconsin USA

[Roman Catholic]

The church was founded in 1883 when 34 families from Rock Elm bought land in the small trading center known as Farm Hill for a church and cemetery. The first mass was celebrated in 1885; the church was dedicated to Saint Nicholas in 1893. Served by other parishes, mass was held once or twice a month. The first resident priest was assigned in 1912, jointly with the new Sacred Heart Church in Elmwood. Saint Nicholas was closed in 1949 and the church razed.
