Wurzburg-Grombühl Germany
Greek Catholic (Byzantine)
The Byzantine services are held in St. Nikolauskapelle in Kirche St. Josef and other locations in Würzburg. Such services have been offered here since the 1930s. They are now known as the "Friends of the Eastern Church" under the jurisdiction of the Bishop of Würzburg. The project is in agreement with the liturgy, pastoral care, and ecumenical department of the Diocese of Würzburg, the city deanery, and the Eastern Church Institute at the University of Würzburg. It is of particular importance for refugees who are accustomed to the Eastern rite.
