St. Nicholas Church

Krasnogorsk, Moscow Oblast Russia

Russian Orthodox

The stone church was built from 1817-1821, replacing a much older wooden one. The church was closed in the Soviet era and rebuilt. The late 17th century iconostasis is from the Moscow Conception Monastery that was destroyed. The church was returned to the parish in 2002. The adjacent Church of the Bogolyubskaya Icon of the Mother of God was built in 1866-1873. It was the only church that remained open in Krasnogorsk during the Soviet time.
