Nikolskaya Slobidka
Kyiv Hermitage-Nikolsky Monastery
Ukraine

[Ukrainian Orthodox]

In the later 1400s lands on the left bank of the Dnieper near Kyiv were purchased to establish monasteries. The settlement of Nikolskaya Slobidka took its name from the Kiev Hermitage-Nikolsky Monastery. The church was opened to the villagers in the late 1800s. The church was demolished in the 1960s when the metro route was laid.
