St. Nicholas Church

Buchyn Ukraine

Ukrainian Orthodox

The church is on an island in the floodplain of the Stokhid River. It is built on the site of the appearance of the Buchyn Icon of the Mother of God. The current church was completed in 1926, replacing the church dismantled by Austro-German soldiers in 1915. Services were banned in 1960 and the miraculous icon moved to Derevok. The icon was returned to the church in the 1990s. A 15 kilometer procession to the icon takes place on May 22nd.
