The church was built in 1908 - 1911. In the 1930s Bolsheviks demolished the two domes and turned the church into a school and club. Services began again during World War II and continued. Parishioners defended the church with pitchforks in the 1960s. Later in the Soviet era, people came from eleven surrounding villages to pray at the church. The church was completely destroyed by fire following Russian shelling in August 2026.
