The church was built in 1907 by a local peasant from the village of Zentsovo. It was consecrated in 1908. The church is part of the Olginsky Convent and has been restored. The convent is near the source of the Volga River.
The small wooden church is dedicated to the memory of October 17, the date of Tsar Nicholas II's October Manifesto in response to the Russian Revolution of 1905.
