Believed to have been built by ruler Ivan Alexander around 1355, it is on top of Taksim Tepe in Plovdiv. It is a chapel to Holy Assumption Cathedral. Inappropriately restored around 1800, it was rebuilt in 1835. The iconostas is from the original chapel, dating from 1735, making it the oldest in Plovdiv.
