From VTS

We have welcomed St. Nicholas to VTS. If you’ve not visited yet, do stop by the Welcome Center to see this amazing display that illustrates St. Nicholas’ life, his relationship to Christian tradition, and various St. Nicholas-related customs from around the world. There is a very cool video to watch as well.

Owned and curated by the St. Nicholas Center Executive Director, Carol Myers, the display will be available for viewing from now through December 20, 2019, and then again from January 2 – 6, 2020.

We offer this exhibit in thanksgiving for the new partnership with the St. Nicholas Center and the joint plan for the Center to entrust its legacy to VTS, a recognized curator and resource of Christian formation.

Do bring your family, friends, and parish for a visit. It’s really extraordinary to see the artifacts that range from a cornhusk doll to an icon. Artifacts from many countries are displayed and there’s a rather fun interactive table with activities for children young and old.

This display and the burgeoning partnership are possible because of relationships forged over many years. I am grateful to Dr. Lisa Kimball and Vice President Linda Dienno for helping us connect with St. Nicholas in such a meaningful and educational way, and to Vannessa McCormick, Taryn Habberly, Margaret Messenger, and Jeffri Harre who are literally keeping the display lights on and fielding questions while the display is in the Welcome Center.
