Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church

New York (Manhattan), New York USA

[Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America]

Church Website

This church was started in 1916 by Greek immigrants. Serving this community, it has also been a religious and cultural center for Greek sailors and shipping magnates passing through New York. This small three-story building (22 ft. x 56 ft.) building was completely destroyed in the September 11, 2001, terrorist attack on the World Trade Center. Later two icons and a cross were recovered from the site. The new church was consecrated in 2022.
