Lighting of the Advent Wreath

Boy Bishop

I greet you all. Today we give thanks for St Nicholas and rejoice that in Christ's name he spoke out fearlessly against oppression, did many acts of kindness and proclaimed God's justice.
Almighty God,
We await your coming,
We long to meet you,
cleanse the thoughts of our hearts
by the inspiration of your Holy Spirit,
that we may perfectly love you,
And worthily magnify your holy name
Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Boy Bishop

We light the second candle to remind us that Jesus came to give light to those who dwell in darkness and in the shadow of death and to guide our feet into the way of peace.

Boy Bishop

Grace, mercy and peace
From God our Father
And the Lord Jesus Christ
Be with you.
And also with you.
