St. Nicholas

O Nicholas,
holy hierarch,
your flock has recognized you by the brilliance of your works.

O Nicholas,
holy hierarch,
you are a model of kindness and rule of faith.

O Nicholas,
a teacher of self control.
O Nicholas,
holy hierarch,
your lowliness has raised you to the heights of fame.
and your poverty has filled your hands with riches.

O Nicholas,
holy hierarch,
beg Christ, our God, to save our souls.

In Myra, O holy father, you proved yourself a true priest of God—
and servant of the divine mysteries,
for you fulfilled the gospel of Christ by giving your life for your flock —
and saving the innocent from death.
In this way, you achieved true holiness as a great mystic of divine grace.

O Nicholas,
holy hierarch,
beg Christ, our God, to save our souls.
Beg Christ, our God, to save our souls.
