Ukrposhta opens special Christmas post offices open across Ukraine on December 6, in Kyiv, Odesa, Lviv, Kharkiv, and other cities. They are in almost all central postal branches.
The post offices are decorated with beautiful Christmas trees and large "gift packages." Children come to write letters and draw pictures for Saint Nicholas. They write their wishes, hopes, dreams, and secret desires. These are then deposited in the "gift packages.
Letters may also be mailed to the central post office in Kyiv at 01 001, Kyiv-1, 22 Khreshchatyk St. If the return addresses are correct, children receive a reply from Saint Nicholas. Letters are accepted from December 6 through the 25th.
A poignant letter from Igor in 2023 so impressed Saint Nicholas that he gave it to Ukrposhta. In this letter, Igor asked for "superpower for the Armed Forces of Ukraine", "level 100 armor", "an endless supply of weapons" and for all Ukrainian soldiers to return alive.

Igor's letter inspired the new 2024 stamp, "Letter to Saint Nicholas," showing a boy writing a letter to Saint Nicholas. Ukrainian artist Kost' Lavro designed the stamp.
