ABOUT THIS BOOK
The Life and Miracles of Saint Nicholas, the Wonderworker was written in the mid-19th century by Orthodox historian and author Count Michael Vladimirovich Tolstoy as a piece of popular, didactic literature. M. V. Tolstoy was dedicated to the Orthodox Church with mind and soul, being very diligent in the field of popular spiritual education. He was closely acquainted to Saint Philaret of Moscow whom he would often turn to for blessings and advice. M. V. Tolstoy’s literary opus and his close interests revolved around the Lavra of Troyitsa-Sergius and the Moscow ‘Spiritual Academy. This Orthodox popular educator finally reposed in the Lord within the cloisters of his beloved Lavra. The original text of this publication has been modified here to suit the needs and intellectual abilities of children.
