Los lunes de San Nicolás
Mondays of St. Nicholas

This Caminata de San Nicolás is from the stunning baroque Iglesia San Nicolás de Bari y San Pedro Mártir in Valencia, Spain. Hundreds of visitors and pilgrims come each Monday to pray the prayers of the Caminata.

Caminata de San Nicolás
Walk of Saint Nicholas

San Nicolás de Bari
Patron of children, protector of the family; advocate in poverty
and in situations of economic need.

Walking or pilgrimage to a sanctuary in search of supernatural help is
a healthy Christian practice. It is a penitential act—hence to do it on
foot, if possible, and in silence— to achieve spiritual favor.

FIRST

Reconcile yourself with God, with the Church and with your neighbor with a good
CONFESSION, if you are in serious sin or have not
attended the sacramental confession for a long time.

SECOND

Participate in the HOLY MASS listening attentively to the Word of
God, the Eucharistic Prayer and communion. (Remember that to
approach communion you must have the proper dispositions).

THIRD

After the Mass (NOT during the Mass), say the following prayers.

Psalm 63
O God, you are my God, I seek you,
my soul thirsts for you;
my flesh faints for you,
as in a dry and weary land where there is no water.
So I have looked upon you in the sanctuary,
beholding your power and glory.
Because your steadfast love is better than life,
my lips will praise you.
So I will bless you as long as I live;
I will lift up my hands and call on your name.
My soul is satisfied as with a rich feast,
and my mouth praises you with joyful lips
when I think of you on my bed,
and meditate on you in the watches of the night;
for you have been my help,
and in the shadow of your wings I sing for joy.
My soul clings to you;
your right hand upholds me.

Glory to the Father, the Son and
the Holy Spirit

Petitions

Let us ask with faith and confidence to God Our Father, through
Jesus Christ, the intercession of St. Nicholas.

For the Holy Church: so that, with the assistance of the Holy Spirit,
to evangelize freely throughout the world.
For our families: to be bright and cheerful homes;
Disagreements and discords to disappear.
For Christian spouses; so that they really love each other, bearing
witness to the love of Jesus Christ for his Church, banishing all
infidelity, misunderstanding and distrust.
For parents: so that they always give testimony to the faith with
their example and word.
For all children exposed to the dangers of violence, abandonment or
illness: for Saint Nicholas to be their guardian Angel.
For the health of our patients, for the consolation of those who suffer.
For those who seek work to live a dignified life and cannot find it.
For those who suffer because of economic problems.
For families in need.
For my current need (. . .) so that I can successfully leave it through the
intercession of St. Nicholas.
For all the deceased, especially our relatives: so that God may
welcome them in heaven.
Attend, Lord, kindly, to our petitions and grant us what
we ask of you through the intercession of St.
Nicholas.
Amen

PRAYER TO SAINT NICHOLAS

Lord, we implore your mercy
and we pray that through the intercession of
Saint Nicholas you will assist us in all our
necessities.
That children receive protection
in all dangers.
That young people get support and guidance
to form families united and in peace.
That the sick find answer and
remedy to their anguish and difficulties.
And so we can walk safely on the path
of salvation.
Through Jesus Christ Our Lord. Amen.

Our Father.
Ave Maria.
Glory.
