Prayer I

O Glorious Holy Nicolas, my special protector!

From the heavenly place where you enjoy the Divine Presence,
turn your eyes toward me and reach to God whose grace meets all my needs—
spiritual, physical, and, especially, the grace that brings eternal salvation.
Protect, O glorious Holy Bishop,
our Pope, the holy Church and this city.
Show the way of salvation
to those in sin, surrounded by the darkness of ignorance, error, or heresy.
Console the heartbroken ones, aid the needy ones,
comfort the weak ones, defend the oppressed ones,
care for the sick ones;
Through your powerful patronage,
let all experience the Lord our God,
giver of everything that is good.
Amen.

Our Father

Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins
as we forgive those who sin against us.
Save us from the time of trial
and deliver us from evil.

we are to trust in your protection.

O Wonder of Charity!
To all that come—families, the poor, the sick,
merchants, laborers, prisoners,
children, maidens in danger;
I humbly ask to receive your grace.
I hope, trusting in your worthy protection,
that you will never deny grace to all who call on you,
so that, favored by your kindness,
we will once again sing the praises of our Lord
and the wonders of his saints.
