This miracle-working icon of Saint Nicholas became famous after many evident miracles had been witnessed. Those who prayed in front of the icon for the saint's intercession, received answers to their prayers with recovery from ailments and serious illnesses, settling a peaceful family life, and help in difficult financial situations.

As a witness to the these miracles and as a thanksgiving for healing, help and intercession, those favoured by the saint had made a silver riza decorated with precious stones and pearls for the miracle-working icon. The riza was sanctified by His Eminence Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, co-serving with numerous priests. The Metropolitan was in Thailand for the tenth anniversary of Orthodoxy in Thailand.

To protect the icon while keeping it readily available to believers, it was moved to the church of All Saints in Pattaya, where it was placed in a specially built kiot. Daily services of supplication (molebens) are offered in front of the miracle-working icon.
