Who comes each year, to spread the world with cheer?
'Tis our great saint, we all should imitate.
The children sing, sailors their thanks they bring:

O blessed Nic'las,
O good St Nic'las!

The gifts he brings, the people celebrate.
All those who love him, folk both small and great;
Revere his message, hail his regal state:

O blessed Nic'las,
O good St Nic'las!

The real St Nick, no Santa Claus we need,
He is the only one, the folk agreed,
From Myra, Bari, a true saint indeed:

O blessed Nic'las,
O good St Nic'las!

He saved the soldiers, the three girls now free,
Students are rescued, praise the Trinity;
The bishop, friend, a wonder worker he:

O blessed Nic'las,
O good St Nic'las!

He waits with us for the great holy day,
Christmas is coming, with the saint we pray,
That when Christ comes, with Mary we shall say:

Alleluia,
Alleluia!
