St. Nicholas Altar Wings - 1485

Marienkirche, Mühlhausen, Germany

These two wings are from the Nicholasaltar in the Marienkirche, Muhlhausen, Germany. The altar, not fully preserves, dates from around 1485 and the two wings remain. It depicts twelve scenes from the life and miracles of Saint Nicholas. Marienkirche has been a museum since 1975, though it is still used for concerts and Protestant services on Easter, Whit Monday, town fair, Reformation Day and Christmas Eve.
