Life and Miracles of Saint Nicolas

Basilique Saint Nicolas, St-Nicolas-de-Port, France

These extraordinary scenes were painted in the 1500s by an anonymous artist for pilgrims to St-Nicolas-de-Port. For centuries these fourteen pictures have told the St. Nicholas stories for pilgrims and residents of Lorraine. The fourteen small wooden panels are now in the crypt. Click for larger images.
