Life and Miracles of Saint Nicolas

Chapelle Saint-Nicolas, Priziac, Brittany, France

These extraordinary nine scenes are carved into the rood screen at Saint-Nicolas Chapel in Priziac. They were carved and polychromed in the 16th or 17th century. (Sources say 1580, but it seems to clearly say 1680.) Click for larger images. It is said to be the most beautiful rood screen in Brittany.
